We sincerely compliment the journal on the publication of the article by Dolas SG et al., [1]. It was a pleasure reading the article, which reported a novel technique for correction of unilateral scissor bite using straight wire. We would like to put forward a few queries regarding the article.
First, the author has mentioned that the molar relation on both the sides is Class I. But on the right side, there is scissor bite involving the premolars and 1st molar. If the molars are not in intercuspation, how can the molar relation be established? Please justify!
Second, the author has mentioned that they have used 0.020” SS AJ Wilcock wire (Premium Plus) out of the spool. But, according to www.ajwilcock.com, the wire with the diameter of 0.020” is not manufactured in Premium Plus grade. Rather, it is available in Premium grade. It would be of great help if we could know about this mismatch.
Third, as shown in [Table/Fig-3], 5 mm expansion was seen in the lower arch using the wire without making an arch form such that its one side was engaged on left sided molar tube, and the other side was engaged on the molar tube on scissor bite side. My query is, if the mandibular right 1st and 2nd premolars were not bonded and ligated to the wire, then how is it possible for the premolar which is in scissor bite to get corrected?
It would be of great help if you could enlighten us regarding these queries.

In regards to molar relation since there was scissor bite and no intercuspation but the molar relationship was such that eventually after correction of scissor bite, it would come to class I molar. Hence, we had considered it.
The wire with diameter 0.020” was used in premium grade and it was typographic error on our part.
The mandibular first and second premolars were bonded subsequently. The idea was to start with posterior most tooth i.e., first molar, the second premolar and later first premolar. This was done to reinforce the anchorage and prevent crossbite on other side. It is always easy to correct the posterior most teeth.
